About Us

Strömsskolan is beautifully located on the western side of the river in a scenic area that invites "outdoor classrooms".

We are a growing school with currently approximately 360 students, and we now need to expand our staff. We work in grade levels, which means that teaching is planned, implemented, analyzed, and evaluated jointly within the grade level, with high flexibility to group students in different constellations based on needs for interest, support, or challenge.

Active work regarding "inclusion" is central to our school; all students should feel seen and have the opportunity to influence their school day. We also invest in "active breaks" to increase students' collaborative interaction and provide opportunities for varied physical activities during the school day.

Collaboration and teamwork, a "we-feeling" including all professions, are the guiding words for our school, all with the student's best interests in mind.

Your Role

Through varied and stimulating teaching, combined with security and a conducive study environment, we at Strömsskolan aim to ensure that all our students reach their maximum individual capacity, in harmony with the group's development.

We are looking for two engaged and creative craft teachers with a focus on textile crafts and wood and metal crafts respectively, for teaching in grades 3–6. You are welcome to have competence in other practical, aesthetic subjects in addition to crafts. With us, you are a very important part of our students' development, practically, theoretically, and socially. From the start of the 2026 school year, students from Ryrsjöskolan will also have their craft instruction at Strömsskolan.

As a craft teacher/practical aesthetic teacher, you will, among other things:

• Plan and conduct lessons
• Make assessments and assign grades
• Maintain premises and tools
• Be an active part of the municipality's craft teacher network (a few meetings per school year)

Strömsskolan has two craft rooms, one for each type of craft, all in a small separate house on the schoolyard; the school library is also located in the same building. The work environment is inspiring, and you have great opportunities to influence teaching. You will work primarily in a grade-level team where the daily work is done jointly. You are also part of a work team within grades 4–6, where the grade levels are represented and meet on a weekly basis.

We have a broad support organization through student health services that, together with the teachers, will ensure that the right support and motivation-enhancing teaching is provided to our students. Your closest colleague is the teacher instructing in wood and metal crafts; you will collaborate and jointly assess the students' knowledge.

The most important component for achieving a successful, motivating, and challenging school experience for the students is professional educators. With our work at Strömsskolan, we want to give students the very best prerequisites for further studies and provide them with the tools to act as democratic citizens in our society.

Who are you?

• You are a qualified and licensed primary school teacher with a focus on wood and metal crafts and/or textile crafts.
• You must be able to collaborate and contribute to the school's development, and be independent with a sense of responsibility.
• You are flexible and creative, seeing solutions instead of obstacles and viewing challenges as inspiring.

Strömsskolan places great importance on positive relationship building with the students. We have chosen to work as educators because we are interested in working with children and young people. Acting professionally in both thought and conduct is a prerequisite for success in the work.
