Registered Nurse to Forensic Psychiatry at Brinkåsen

NU-sjukvården is part of the Västra Götaland region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 residents. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. About the Operation

The Forensic Psychiatry unit in NU-sjukvården is located in fine and operationally adapted premises at Brinkåsen in Vänersborg.

The Forensic Psychiatry unit at Brinkåsen consists of five care departments with different focuses based on psychiatric diagnoses. Common to all care departments is that our patients are sentenced to inpatient forensic psychiatric care.

Our mission is to increase the patient's mental health through care and treatment. Our goal is to make the patient more involved in their care. Individualizing care interventions increases the chances for the patient to gain control over their illness and thus prevent relapse into criminal activity.

In addition to nursing staff, there are other competencies and professions in the facility that support our care processes aimed at achieving our treatment goals.

Department 94

Department 94 is a forensic psychiatric care unit focused on younger adults. The department cares for patients with various diagnoses, but the main focus is on personality disorders. Here, a slightly higher percentage of women are cared for compared to the other departments.

About the Position

We work in care teams based on a contact person model according to evidence-based guidelines and care programs. As a nurse, you will have overall nursing responsibility within the care team and be responsible for various medical interventions. As part of your introduction, we apply mentorship.

The position includes evening and weekend shifts. If you have requests for a different employment rate, we are open to dialogue to try to reach a solution that you are satisfied with.

Qualifications

Registered nurse. We see that you who apply have an interest in psychiatry and in working with patients who have personality disorders. We work in teams and have continuous contact with relatives and care neighbors, placing great importance on personal suitability and the ability to collaborate. As a person, you are positive, flexible, and proactive.

Other

Interviews are conducted continuously throughout the application period.

When filling a position within psychiatry, we always request an extract from the suspicion and criminal record register. This request is handled by the employer.

Clinical Foundation Year

As a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of NU-sjukvården's clinical foundation year. The clinical foundation year is an initiative to give newly graduated nurses a good start in working life. You will have better opportunities to develop in your profession and build a professional identity through introduction, seminar days, and professional supervision.
