Stroke Unit and Neurology Department Need More Nurses

Our unit consists of an inpatient stroke unit and neurology department. A smaller part also includes a nursing and medical reception as well as a discharge team, where as a nurse you work across the entire unit. We work in teams around the patient, from the acute care when the patient arrives by ambulance, through investigations, and into the rehabilitative phase, follow-ups in the outpatient clinic or perhaps at home, as well as with patients at the end of life. The combination of emergency care, investigations, nursing, and rehabilitation is something the workgroup highlights as stimulating and enjoyable, with short, quick meetings mixed with more long-term relationships. We have a well-established working method where we work closely with doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, speech therapists, dental hygienists, social workers, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

Guidance from Supportive Colleagues

As a nurse in our unit, you always work side by side with another nurse. You will receive a tailored introduction under the guidance of supportive colleagues. In your role, you plan, evaluate, and follow up on the nursing interventions made together with the team, the patient, and their relatives.
