The Secretariat Department is a support function for the entire municipal organization. The department is responsible for the municipality's information management, the political case process, investigations, legal guidance, security, and crisis preparedness.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a temporary committee secretary for the municipality's joint Secretariat Department.
The main responsibility of the position is secretarial work in the Education and Culture Committee and its subcommittees, but also serving in other committees or preparatory bodies may occur. The work involves some evening duties.
Together with other committee secretaries and committee administrators in the department, with whom you will closely collaborate, you will have a central role in the committee process.
The main tasks include being responsible for the preparation and case management process between the administration and the committee and supporting the political organization before, during, and after meetings. You proofread texts, write and quality assure decision materials for the committee, and coordinate matters such as internal control, delegation orders, information management plans, and follow-up of political decisions.
The role also includes occasionally participating in projects and investigations and handling matters in preparation for political decisions.
Together with your colleagues, you will work on developing and improving our working methods and contribute to ensuring that the political process is followed in accordance with applicable laws and established governing documents.
The position involves many contacts, and you will be consulted on issues from politicians, officials, and citizens in the municipality.
QUALIFICATIONS
Formal qualifications:
- Relevant academic education with a focus on political science or law, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
- Good knowledge of the Local Government Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, and the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act
Personal qualities:
- Well-developed communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Ability to work independently and in a structured manner, and to plan, organize, and prioritize your own work
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- Good judgment and high integrity
- Ability to collaborate and a solution-focused mindset
