Controller at the Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS)
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. At our headquarters in Solna Business Park, we have about 350 employees, and together we work to support and develop the authority with around 4000 employees.
Job Description
As a controller, you are part of the authority's economic section and are part of a team of 12 controllers who all report to the authority's Chief Financial Officer. A system economist is available to ensure good progress in the digital development of our economic processes. Within the section, there is also an accounting unit with economists and accounting assistants.
In this role, you act as support and requirement setter for several institution managers regarding issues related to finance, budget, and operations. You are responsible for producing budget documentation. The assignment also includes analyzing financial data to ensure fair outcomes, making necessary budget adjustments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and effective resource utilization.
An important part of the role is to identify areas for improvement and propose appropriate measures, and where applicable, assist the institution in implementing these. In the role of controller towards our institutions, the interplay between operations, budget, and financial outcomes is crucial.
Qualifications
For this position, you need to have:
- A university or college degree with a focus on economics, or other education or work experience that the employer deems equivalent
- Several years of experience working as a controller or similar in the public sector
- Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience in accounting within the public sector
- Knowledge of Qlik, Hypergene, and Unit 4 Business World
To succeed in this role, you need to be meticulous, responsible, and able to organize and prioritize your work to ensure it is completed on time and with high quality. Employment:
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
