Support Educator/Support Assistant for Daily Activities LSS

Description

Daily activities are an initiative based on the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS).

The purpose of daily activities is to contribute to personal development and promote participation in society. Based on the individual's wishes and needs, we offer people with disabilities meaningful employment in one of our daily activities.

We are now looking for a support educator/support assistant for a temporary position at one of our daily activities, Österled 2.

Österled 2 is located at Rosenhäll in eastern Uddevalla, currently about 20 people with decisions on daily activities according to LSS are engaged in activities at the unit. The operation employs 7 staff members with individualized activities, and we always strive for personal development based on each individual's needs and wishes.

Responsibilities

In the role of support educator/support assistant, you will work according to the goals and guidelines that apply to the operation in close collaboration with the unit manager, activity educator, and colleagues. You need to be able to work from a person-centered and pedagogical approach; your role is to support and encourage the individuals at Österled 2 in their daily activities, testing methods with colleagues that create a good and developing day for each individual. You will provide support based on each individual's needs through clarifying pedagogy and in accordance with individual implementation plans; you may participate in work meetings with relatives and guardians as needed.

As a support educator, you will also have overall responsibility and support colleagues with social documentation as well as the establishment of implementation plans and have overall responsibility for the pedagogical development of the operation together with support educator colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in the field of disability, at least 200 YH points or 60 university credits in the field of disability and pedagogy, or another equivalent education assessed by the employer. Alternatively, someone with a healthcare and nursing program/children and leisure program.

We require that you have previously worked with the target group, and it is an advantage if you have experience working in daily activities as well as knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), sign language support, IBIC, and low-arousal approaches. A driver's license is required.

The work requires personal qualities such as a calm, pedagogical, and reflective approach, good collaboration skills, flexibility, the ability to take responsibility, and being innovative and initiative-driven. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
