Treatment Pedagogue Summer Substitute at SiS Youth Home Fagared
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and adults with addiction issues. SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-school-attending boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and addiction. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.
Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer substitute position as a treatment pedagogue at SiS.
SiS Youth Home Fagared is now looking for treatment pedagogues for summer substitutes for our departments in Lindome. In the departments in Lindome, we work to implement closed youth care for boys who have been sentenced to a criminal penalty according to the law on closed youth care. We also have a treatment department with a particularly enhanced mission where we receive young people with extensive psychiatric and neuropsychiatric issues, including a combination of autism, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, PTSD, self-harming behavior, and severe outwardly aggressive behavior.
The goal of your mission is to motivate our youth to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment pedagogue, you ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth and are responsible for the foundation of daily life, including schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Since SiS Youth Home Fagared receives young people who have been sentenced to a criminal penalty according to the law on closed youth care, it means that you need to work with a high awareness of risk and security. You contribute to maintaining safety in accordance with our written instructions and routines.
This is a job for you who can endure to stay, who creates security and safety in the often very difficult life situations of the youth. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period, which is why those who work full-time as monthly employed substitutes for more than four weeks will receive a bonus.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations.
Requirements are:
- Completed and approved upper secondary education
- At least 2 years of post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
- Driver's license B
- Very good Swedish in speech and writing as the work may involve some documentation and contact with other authorities
- Experience in youth-related work or work with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, HVB activities, or from care and support.

Employment
The position is a fixed-term employment as a substitute over the summer. It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as a temporary employee before the summer period.
Working hours: Irregular working hours according to schedule. Either day, evening, and weekend shifts, or night shifts on weekdays and weekends.
As a summer substitute, you will undergo a tailored introductory training of 4 days. You must be able to participate in this introductory training to work with us.
