About the Job

We are now looking for you who want to work as a support assistant at a residence for people with intellectual disabilities.

Mandolingatan is a housing facility with special services located in southwestern Gothenburg, where six tenants with varying disabilities and support needs reside. The accommodation is focused on individuals with neuropsychiatric and intellectual disabilities. The tenants have their own apartments, and there are also common areas available.

As a support assistant, your task is to provide our tenants with individual support in their daily lives and to encourage leisure activities and participation in everyday life. We want to create long-term conditions for a good independent life. Your responsibilities include being a contact person, establishing implementation plans together with the resident, keeping documentation up to date, and ensuring that it is followed.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and sleeping shifts, as well as three weekends out of six according to a schedule.

About You

We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or educational work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability area that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination thereof that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other training that the employer assesses as equivalent. You who apply have previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and neuropsychiatric disabilities.

If you have knowledge and training in the following methods, it is an advantage:

• Low Arousal Approach (LAB)
• Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
• Motivational Interviewing (MI)
• Independent Living (ESL)

You are experienced in handling social documentation and are a proficient computer user in various systems. We work in Treserva, Time Care, and Personec, and it is seen as positive if you have experience working in any of the above.

We want you to be clear in your communication and able to work pedagogically and methodically. You have passed grades in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

You are calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations, can balance the demands placed on you, and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure. You take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks and think about those we are here for and their best interests. You are attentive and open to understanding the needs, feelings, and opinions of others. You are friendly and helpful to others even in a stressful situation and show respect for everyone you meet at work.
