Description

The congregation is part of Örgryte parish and is centrally located in eastern Gothenburg.

Here, people meet who are searching, doubting, longing, and confessing. The area is characterized by many residents aged 20–40 years and a growing number of children and young people due to ongoing housing construction.

Our services and activities are marked by participation and inclusion, and we strive to be a church that people of all ages want to come to find meaning in life, hope for the future, and faith.

In Örgryte congregation, priests, deacons, musicians, educators, caretakers, and volunteers work closely together. Some of us have been here for a long time, while others are new; together we shape the life of the congregation.

Responsibilities

As a priest in Örgryte congregation, your main placement will be in the Örgryte parish house, serving in the congregation's three churches. Here, people of all ages gather for services, groups, and various activities.

You will have a special responsibility to shape and develop the congregation's work with adults. The role includes initiating, developing, and leading teaching, discussion groups, retreats, and pilgrimages.

If you have experience and joy in creating and maintaining meeting places for in-depth conversations about theology, culture, and philosophy, as well as current and existential life questions, we see you as a very good candidate for the position.

We are looking for someone who

• has experience in Bible studies, teaching, and spiritual guidance
• wants to manage and develop services, church actions, and teaching
• enjoys networking, working in teams, and sees the congregation as a community where different gifts can contribute
• has experience from ecumenical work, e.g., within Kompass
• is ordained according to the Church of Sweden's order
