We are now looking for wonderful colleagues for our personal assistance cases who want to work on a schedule during the summer when regular staff go on vacation.

You will start from the user's needs and utilize their own resources. In most cases, the user has extensive needs for care and support and may have physical, mental, or intellectual disabilities.

To ensure a safe start at your new workplace with us, you will undergo an introduction once the entire recruitment process is complete.

Job Responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you support and motivate the user in the areas of life that they find difficult to manage on their own. The goal is for them to live as independently as possible.

You will assist the person in daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and communication. This may also include training, household chores, and activities together. You will have an independent and varied job, where tasks are based on each user's life situation.

The role of a personal assistant places high demands on responsibility and the ability to create good relationships. The work is performed individually, so it is important that you feel comfortable with this.

Low-arousal response is a central concept in your assignment as challenging behaviors may arise. You are committed to working systematically with clear pedagogy and social documentation.

It is essential to collaborate professionally with different occupational categories and the network around the individual.

The work will be performed during the day, evening, and night with shifts every other weekend.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• You are at least 18 years old.
• Good mental and physical ability.
• You are confident in yourself and have a genuine desire to help others.
• Professional demeanor.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• Good knowledge of mobile and computer usage.
• Mobile Bank-ID or Freja-ID.
• Can accept delegation of health and medical care tasks such as medication delegation.
• A driving license (B) is desirable and in some cases a requirement.

Meritorious:

• Experience in care and support work.
• Education in care and support, child and leisure, support assistant, or nursing assistant, or started education in any of these.
• Previous experience working with sign language support.
• Low-arousal response and pedagogical approach.
• Experience documenting around users.
• Previous work with alternative communication (AAC) or WidgitGo.

What does our recruitment process look like?

• Selection and interviews take place continuously during the application period based on the needs of the operations.
• In addition to conversations and a physical interview with a recruitment specialist, you will also meet the user and/or their relatives/guardian together with the responsible unit manager.
• You need to provide two references from supervisors, one of which should be your current or most recent supervisor. Do you have no previous work experience? Check with the recruitment specialist.
• If you have previously been employed by Kungälv Municipality, we will contact your former supervisor to obtain internal references as part of our recruitment process.
• For this position, a background check will be conducted according to law. Before employment can be finalized, an extract from the criminal and suspicion register must be presented, and the extract must not be older than six months.
