Placement Officer temporary position

located in Gothenburg, Rosenhill Seamen's Center

Within the Swedish Maritime Administration, there is the Seafarers' Service unit, which provides services to crew members on Swedish and foreign vessels as well as to groups related to the maritime labor market. The focus of the operation is to offer seafarers an active and meaningful leisure time – onboard and ashore.

Job Responsibilities
As a temporary Placement Officer at Rosenhill Seamen’s Center, you will visit vessels that call at Gothenburg's ports or nearby ports along the west coast and inform them about the Seafarers' Service activities. You will inspire physical activity, transport crew members to Rosenhill, the city, or other activities. The job includes some property maintenance, cleaning, reception, and cash handling. You will actively engage with our visitors by initiating a badminton match, floorball, or spontaneous football game.
Rosenhill is a facility with a sports hall, gym, pool, conference rooms, football field, café, and reception.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a high school education and experience in guest relations with international guests. Familiarity with the Office suite is a requirement, as well as good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. A B driver's license is mandatory. It is advantageous if you have experience leading and inspiring groups in physical activities. As we have a pool and pool maintenance is part of the job, it is beneficial if you are technically skilled.
 
We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities, as teamwork is extremely important. We are looking for someone who is engaged and service-oriented. You are open and genuinely interested in other people and cultures and have an easy time making contact. You also have good prioritization skills, can handle stressful situations, and are stimulated by the variety of tasks from day to day.

How and when?
This recruitment is for a temporary position with an estimated start date of 2026-06-15 and lasting until 2027-12-15.
You will work according to a rolling schedule that includes daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.

Interviews will be conducted digitally in weeks 14-16.

The position may involve military placement at the Swedish Maritime Administration.

The position may require Swedish citizenship. A security check with a background check may be conducted before an employment offer.
