You will lead the daily work in the unit and collaborate closely with colleagues across the entire section for children and youth.

Job responsibilities

In the role of Senior Social Worker, you are responsible for supervising social workers, distributing cases, and contributing to a good work environment.

The work involves authority exercise according to the Social Services Act and LVU – such as investigation, decision-making, and follow-up of interventions. You will be responsible for case presentations before the board and committees and represent the board in administrative court.

You ensure that considerations and reassessments are made in time, provide methodological support, and act as a sounding board and knowledge resource for the social workers. The role involves close cooperation with colleagues within the section for children and youth.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in social work or another relevant higher education.
• Experience in foster care.
• Experience working as a caseworker within social services for children.
• Good knowledge of BBIC and current legislation within SoL and LVU.
• A valid driver’s license (B).
• It is an advantage if you have experience with the Lifecare system.
• You express yourself well in both speech and writing and have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality and structure.

Other

Before employment, an extract from the criminal record and suspicion register is required in accordance with the guidelines of the Social Services.

Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.

For positions where a license/valid proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare for a protected professional title is required, this must be submitted before employment.

Language assessment is conducted for certain professional groups before employment can be considered.

Criminal record checks are conducted for all positions within the social services.

For employment within HVB operations, the HVB home extract is requested.

For employment in services aimed at children with disabilities, extracts for children with disabilities and verification of personal information are requested.

For other positions within the social services, extracts for verification of personal information are requested.

If the extract is not digital, it must be brought in a sealed envelope during the check.
