Social Worker for the Children and Youth Unit in Ale Municipality

We are looking for someone who wants to help shape the future of Ale. With us, you will deliver services of the highest quality to the residents of Ale. Together, 2,500 employees create an Ale that focuses on the needs of its citizens. Become one of us!

About the Workplace

Ale Municipality is now expanding with more employees, social workers, and senior social workers within the Children and Youth Unit in IFO! We are currently seeking social workers for our investigation group.

If you enjoy driving improvement processes and are passionate about making a tangible difference for children and families, we would love to hear from you!

The Children and Youth Unit is part of the Social Services (IFO). In addition to Children and Youth, IFO consists of Employment and Income Support, Adult Services, Family Support Unit, and Family Homes and Family Law Unit. The latter unit shares a floor with us in the Children and Youth Unit. All units collaborate closely to meet the needs of those we serve in the best possible way.

Your future workplace in Children and Youth is led by a unit manager and two senior social workers. The unit is divided into three groups: a reception group and two groups of social workers who investigate children and youth aged 0-18 years. Additionally, we have a social administrator in the group who relieves us of administrative tasks.

The office is centrally located in Nödinge center and is easily accessible by public transport.

Job Responsibilities

Your job responsibilities include investigating the need for support, deciding on interventions, and following up on interventions and placements according to SoL and LVU. You will also collaborate with schools, police, leisure services, and other relevant actors around the young person to ensure their needs for protection and support are met. Within the framework of open care interventions, you will use our own open care services at the Family Support Unit.

Your responsibilities also include motivating, exploring receptiveness, and creating high participation among the young person and their family. Your starting point is to support people towards an independent life based on applicable legislation and guidelines. Documentation and record-keeping are important parts of the work to ensure legal security and follow-up of support measures.

You will collaborate with various actors both internally and externally to ensure a holistic perspective and contribute to families receiving the support they need without long waiting times.

Qualifications

It is a requirement that you have a degree in social work or meet the Social Board's requirements for working with children and youth. Experience in public authority exercise is also required.

We want you to be independent, meticulous, and have a good ability to structure and plan your tasks. You also need to have a very good ability to collaborate and see the advantages of activating the family's network and other actors around the young person. You should be open and curious about trying new working methods, and we would like you to be interested in helping to develop the operations. Your work requires personal maturity to meet the challenges that arise. The job requires you to have a B driver's license. We collaborate a lot both within the unit and externally with other professional groups, so this needs to be a working method you are comfortable with. You must have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
