About the Job
Do you want to help create safe meetings between children and their parents? At the Contact Unit, we work to ensure that children placed outside their homes have the opportunity for safe and meaningful interactions with their parents and other important individuals.
We are now looking for a family therapist who wants to contribute to strengthening relationships and creating good conditions for future contact.
The Contact Unit works with assessed support measures and receives assignments from all four districts of Gothenburg. The unit consists of five employees and shares a method supervisor with the Stella Reception, which offers support to parents whose children have been placed outside the home. The operations are co-located in Tynnered and are part of the Resource Unit for Children within the Social Administration Southwest.
You will be part of a small and experienced team of five family therapists who work together to create safe interactions for children placed outside their homes.
Job Responsibilities
As a family therapist at the Contact Unit, you will work with planning and implementing interactions between children and their parents or other important individuals. Your task is to create safe, structured, and predictable interaction situations for the children.
The work also has a change-oriented focus, where the goal is for the interaction to eventually be able to take place without support from the unit.
The role includes close collaboration with the social services authority, parents, and foster homes. You also contribute to a good working environment and actively participate in the development work of the unit.
The position also includes being involved in informing about the unit in various contexts and being consultative in contact issues when requested. Documentation is also part of the job responsibilities.
Working hours are mainly scheduled from 08:00 to 16:30. The assignment also includes evening work until 18:30 approximately one evening per week.
We Offer
With us, you will be part of a smaller team where collaboration, experience exchange, and a supportive collegial climate are important. You have access to close methodological supervision and continuously work on developing working methods within the area of contact. The team regularly has external process supervision together. Since the Stella Reception is located in the same premises, there are good opportunities for learning and competence exchange regarding issues concerning placed children and their parents.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience in working with contact cases is an advantage.
You have good knowledge of social services processes and a good understanding of the so-called tripartite parenthood and what it means to be a long-distance parent.
Experience in social work in areas such as domestic violence, substance abuse, or mental health is an advantage.
The work requires a high degree of flexibility and the ability to handle unplanned and unexpected situations. You need to be able to work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, as well as have a good ability to cooperate with external actors.
We see that you are structured and solution-focused and have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing. Experience with the operational system Treserva is an advantage.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
A valid driver's license (B) is required.
We warmly welcome your application!
