About the position
Norra Fiskebäcksvägen BmSS started in the summer of 2021 and consists of 6 apartments. The target group is adults with multiple disabilities at an early developmental level.
We have a workgroup with positive and engaged colleagues. Together we make a difference, and our work is important for people who need individual support in their daily lives. You now have the opportunity to contribute to our operations by becoming part of our team. We are now looking for a support assistant for our workgroup!
At Norra Fiskebäcksvägen, users have a great need for support and care in many situations. The tasks vary and consist of everything from pedagogical support in everyday life, extensive personal care, cooking, and cleaning. Most users have non-verbal communication such as Bliss and picture support.
The work as a support assistant with us means supporting the individual in daily life, both inside and outside the home. The assignment involves great responsibility and requires the ability to create a good structure to support users in their daily lives, of course with the user involved in planning the support. The user should be made involved in community life, which you actively work towards. You will work with documentation, implementation plans, and follow-up of these. The work involves collaboration with users, relatives, guardians, and colleagues. It also includes receiving delegation according to the Health and Medical Services Act.
Working hours are days, evenings, and every other weekend according to a schedule.
Qualifications
As a support assistant with us, you need to have a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability area that includes at least 200 vocational points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination thereof that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education must have relevant points in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
For the position, experience in care work with individuals at an early developmental level is required. Experience in clear pedagogical methods and experience in alternative communication (AAC) is also required. Experience working with individuals who have epilepsy is also a must.
You should be comfortable being delegated responsibility for medication, feeding tubes, CPAP machines, and cough machines.
Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.
We are looking for someone who can easily adapt to their work style, is responsible, has good communication and collaboration skills, and shows sensitivity to both users and others you encounter in your work. You adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation. You listen to other people in order to understand their needs. You have the ability to explain problems and information to different recipients and from different perspectives. You have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. You work effectively under stress, can balance different demands, and remain calm in difficult situations.
