Description
At Lundenskolan, approximately 550 fantastic students attend from preschool class to grade 9, along with seven groups in the adapted primary school.
Our school has a central location with good public transport connections and is close to the city's rich cultural offerings. The schoolyard invites play and movement, and adjacent to the school, there are forests and nature suitable for outdoor education.
At Lundenskolan, we value social interaction where respect for each other's differences is at the core. We have a meaningful and diverse operation where we work every day to provide students with the opportunity to develop into independent individuals.
We are now looking for a counselor to join the school's student health team within the higher grades of primary school in the middle and upper grades. As a counselor, you will be part of the student health team, which consists of two school nurses, two counselors (of which you will be one), a school psychologist, and three special educators.
Responsibilities
As a counselor, you contribute social and psychosocial competence within the student health work at the organizational, group, and individual levels. The work should be preventive and health-promoting. Interventions are planned, and assignments are decided by the assistant principal and principal at weekly student health team meetings that form a cross-professional arena. The counselor's interventions may include consultation on social and psychosocial issues for the school's staff. The counselor carries out promoting and preventive interventions with students at the group and class level according to the school's academic year plan. The counselor offers shorter support conversations to individual students and collaborates with guardians. The counselor, together with the other student health staff, conducts various types of investigations that may involve absenteeism and social situations. As a counselor, you will be part of a group of counselors in the district that has process guidance and joint competence and method development.
Based on your profession, you contribute measures, strategies, and methods to provide students with tools for increased goal fulfillment and well-being. You collaborate with school leadership, educators, and other staff at the school, and you have contacts with external actors, such as social services, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), and the police.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another relevant higher education. We want you to have experience working as a school counselor and experience working with children and youth.
You have good abilities to develop contacts and collaborations with other actors and authorities in child and youth matters. As a person, you have the ability to work both independently and in a team and work solution-focused. You also have knowledge of the curriculum's goals, values, and views on learning.
As a person, you are stable, empathetic, unpretentious, and secure in your professional role. You have a strong commitment to the psychosocial situation of children and youth and the ability to meet people in various life situations. You find it easy to build relationships and are professional and respectful in your interactions with students, guardians, and colleagues.
We warmly welcome your application!
