Personal Assistant Wanted
After working with me for 7 years, one of my fantastic assistants is leaving her position to embark on new adventures.
Therefore, I am looking for a new female assistant who is passionate about helping and wants to work with me long-term. You should be positive, creative, and confident in yourself. It’s great if you can be playful when needed, but also have a mature sense of consequences. You should genuinely want to work as a personal assistant – for real!
I am 19 years old and live with my family in Lockryd/Sandsjönäs (right between Svenljunga and Borås). The position is approximately 75% (with the possibility of more starting in June), with varying working hours (see below).
We are also looking for substitutes/summer staff to cover for regular assistants who need some well-deserved vacation. The position is perfect for you who are studying as there is an opportunity for continued extra weekends after the summer or during weekdays when regular staff are sick. NOTE! You must be able to work weeks 27–32 to apply for the position.
Working Hours
Examples of weekday shifts: 12:30 PM – 08:00 AM (24-hour shift with 6 hours of sleeping duty) or shorter shifts 12:30 PM – 06:30 PM/07:30 PM. Starting in June, and continuing forward, there will also be day shifts between 8 AM – 4 PM as I graduate and all my assistance time will be at home.
Examples of weekend shifts: 12:00 PM – 09:00 AM (24-hour shift with 6 hours of sleeping duty) or shorter shifts 9 AM – 5 PM.
You will alternate between working alone and as a double assistant.
We are looking for someone who is
- A woman (requirement) with lots of positive energy.
- Has a driver's license and access to a car (requirement).
- Available to accompany on trips abroad.
- Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Has a warm personality, is responsible, and is confident in yourself.
- Good at collaborating but can also work independently.
- Preferably has previous experience as a personal assistant, but this is not a requirement. Personality and compatibility are more important.
About Me
I am 19 years old and attend school in Borås. I have assistance around the clock, except during school hours (after June I will graduate, so there will also be day shifts between about 8 AM – 4 PM on weekdays). Personal assistance for me is not primarily about care, but about enabling me to live my life the way I want.
I am an energetic and active person who enjoys doing things – my assistants and I love to go out in my adapted car and take long walks (where there is an opportunity to walk with a wheelchair) or grab a coffee. I enjoy music, fun, various activities, and meeting new people. I often train in the pool, which I find both enjoyable and beneficial for me – so swimming cannot be a barrier for you.
I am very social and communicative, but I do not have speech and therefore need help interpreting and conveying in meetings with other people who do not know me. I use a wheelchair and to make my daily life work, I need help with most things. Everything from transfers, hygiene, toilet visits, assistive devices, dressing, and feeding.
Application
You are welcome to complement your application with a video response where you answer some introductory questions – this is completely voluntary but highly appreciated.

GIL's office provides support in areas such as management, administration, finance, HR, and training. Together, we contribute to making everyday life work for both those receiving assistance and employees within the cooperative.
To attract and retain secure and engaged employees, GIL invests in training and joint activities.
- GIL's assistants have collective agreements with Fremia–Kommunal
- Wellness allowance up to 2,500 SEK/year
- Individual salary setting
- Criminal record extracts may be requested depending on the position
Please send in your application as soon as possible, as selection is ongoing.
