Dive into adult psychiatry – combine summer work with education!

We are looking for engaged and curious psychology students who want to deepen their knowledge and gain practical experience in adult psychiatry.

The position extends over the summer of 2026 (June–August) and offers, through our unique psychiatry program, a combination of practical work, education, and supervision at Skaraborg Hospital.

As a participant in our psychiatry program for psychology assistants, you will have a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills as a future psychologist while making a difference for our patients. The program provides you with a solid introduction with relevant lectures, supervision from experienced colleagues, and observation in acute, inpatient, and outpatient care, offering the chance to see the entire spectrum of psychiatry. All to strengthen your theoretical and clinical competence in psychiatric care. This is an invaluable opportunity to grow professionally, build networks, and gain extensive insight into psychiatric care processes and patient interactions – an experience that sets you apart in your ongoing studies to become a psychologist!

Skaraborg Hospital offers psychiatric specialist care for adults at clinics and wards in Skövde, Mariestad, Lidköping, and Falköping. The placement location is flexible and can be discussed upon hiring.

Your tasks may include:

• Conducting basic assessment interviews with new patients
• Assisting in day care work

Who are we looking for?

You have completed at least six semesters of the psychology program. You are curious and engaged and want to gain deeper knowledge in your role as a future psychologist. You view feedback as a natural part of your professional development and handle it openly, attentively, and constructively.
