JOB DESCRIPTION
As a probation officer, you will be responsible for conditionally released clients and clients sentenced to probation who are under supervision. The probation service is also responsible for intensive supervision with electronic monitoring, known as an ankle bracelet, and community service. The work within probation largely consists of investigative work, conducting risk and needs assessments, and developing execution plans. Probation officers also lead treatment programs for probation clients. As a probation officer, you actively participate in influencing work directed at clients, including structured conversations based on CBT, motivating participation in program activities, and assisting in release preparations for clients incarcerated in prison. Your tasks also include conducting personal investigations and providing opinions to the court, as well as suggesting appropriate sanctions. The probation office in Skövde primarily operates in work teams with some specialization. Administration and documentation are part of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS
For the position of probation officer, you need to have good judgment, be able to work independently and take initiative, as well as have a strong ability to collaborate. As a person, you are engaged and see opportunities in your work, with a structured and quality-conscious approach. You are stable, clear in your communication style, and can set boundaries within the framework of the assignment.

Requirements
- Academic degree (at least bachelor's level), preferably in behavioral science, criminology, law, social work, or social sciences, or other academic education combined with experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
- Driving license B
Desirable
- Well-rated work experience in criminal justice, social care, psychiatry, or health and social care
- Experience with the legal system and target group
- Experience working with CBT-based interventions
- Experience with documentation and case management
- Experience in probation work
- Experience with program activities
