About the Job

We are now looking for a new colleague to Fjällblomman!

Our group home is located in Rannebergen in northeastern Gothenburg, where six adults with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges reside.

For us, structure, clarity, and low-arousal approaches are important parts of our daily work.

Currently, our team consists of six support assistants and one support educator. We provide support based on individually established implementation plans and work pedagogically with common goals and methods. Our goal is to create conditions for each individual to live as meaningful and independent a life as possible.

As a support assistant, you will actively participate in both practical and pedagogical tasks in everyday life. You will provide support, service, and care based on each user's needs, respecting their integrity and autonomy. The work involves both everyday and planned interventions, always focusing on the individual's own goals.

We work with low-arousal approaches and other methods such as AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), sign language support, and clear pedagogical practices. The role also includes social documentation and actively following up on implementation plans, case management, and collaboration with internal and external parties who are key individuals in the tenant's life.

We offer you a varied and meaningful job where you have the opportunity to influence the content of the work and make a real difference in people's lives!

The working hours are scheduled for daytime and evening shifts, sleeping on-call, and every other weekend.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points or 120 higher education credits. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant points in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Communication is an important part of the work, which requires you to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. A passing grade in at least Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 is a requirement. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the testing provider Educateit.

Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have experience and knowledge of one or more of the following methods:

  • Low-arousal approach (LAB)
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
  • Sign language support
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Living an Independent Life (ESL)
  • Individual Needs in Center (IBIC)
  • Clear pedagogical practices

It is advantageous if you have knowledge of social documentation and experience in establishing implementation plans.

We are looking for someone who is motivated to make a real difference and who wants to contribute to increased independence for those we serve.

As a person, you are friendly and helpful, treating others with respect, even in stressful situations. In your work, you are attentive, cooperative, and responsive to the needs, feelings, and opinions of others. You feel secure in pressured and challenging situations and can remain calm when needed. You have the ability to balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded and responsible decisions.

Are you our new support assistant that we are looking for? Warm welcome to your application!
