One of our family home secretaries has decided to try a different type of position after parental leave, and we are now looking for a new family home secretary for our unit. The Family Support and Foster Care Unit is one of three units within the Child and Family Services department in Härryda Municipality. The unit consists of five family home secretaries, five child protection secretaries, seven family therapists, and one youth therapist. The unit also includes three team leaders and one unit manager. The availability of support in daily work is high, and there are good conditions for doing quality social work.

We strive to maintain a good and close contact with the children and important people in the child's life. We place great emphasis on maintaining high quality and allowing space for creativity. The group of family home secretaries is ambitious, experienced, and inventive. It is a group that enjoys working together and has a high level of care for one another. Child protection secretaries and family home secretaries work closely together and therefore provide natural support for each other. The proximity to family therapists allows for quick identification of flexible solutions for children in foster homes where enhanced support is needed.

Your mission

As a family home secretary, your mission is to recruit, assess, match, and supervise foster homes. You place great emphasis on supporting and guiding the foster homes so that they feel they have the support they need to help the children in the best possible way. You take the time to build good relationships and are generous in collaboration and cooperation. You work closely with child protection secretaries through joint meetings and by planning care.

In our unit, there is a clear and strong ambition to have as many of our own foster homes as possible, as we believe this often benefits the children. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy working with recruitment and building new contacts, while also taking good care of the foster homes we have.

We are constantly working to develop the care of the children and youth we are responsible for, to make it as good and effective as possible. You actively participate in our ongoing development work and contribute your experiences, knowledge, and ideas while being curious, attentive, and open to your colleagues' thoughts.

Requirements for the position

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and at least a couple of years of experience in foster care within social services. Other experience in the field, such as child welfare investigations, is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have completed training for supervising foster homes. The job involves travel, so a valid driver's license (B) is required.

To obtain employment, a criminal record extract from the police must be presented. An extended background check will be conducted prior to employment.
