Social Services Assessor at the Assistance Unit

At the Assistance Unit, our mission is to meet the individual needs for support services aimed at increasing independence based on the individual's circumstances. The unit employs about thirty staff members in various professions such as LSS assessors, assistance assessors, and housing assessors. We offer you a pleasant workplace with positive and professional colleagues of different ages. Our premises are located in Äldrecentrum Ekedal, centrally located and close to public transport. The operation is part of the care and welfare sector of Skövde Municipality.

The care and welfare sector has an important societal mission. We work with support, service, care, and assistance for people of all ages, and our operations are characterized by professionalism and human values.

Here we work together as a team. We help and support each other when needed. You are surrounded by high competence, experienced colleagues, and managers. In the role of an assistance assessor, you also receive so much back from those you are there for.

To provide the best conditions for our users and for our employees to succeed and develop at work, development work and continuous improvements are our focus. We want to be at the forefront of what we do.

As an employee with us, you are important; we want you to stay. We offer mentorship and an individualized introduction for all new hires, as well as ongoing training and professional development.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Two of our assistance assessors are retiring, and a colleague is moving. Therefore, we are now looking for several new colleagues who want to work as assistance assessors with us. We are looking for you who:

  • want to work as an assistance assessor in one of our regular teams, or
  • want to help build our newly started reception team.

Our unit is organized into three geographical teams, one group that works with housing investigations, and an LSS group. To create better working conditions and clearer workflows for the assistance assessors, we are now starting a reception team that only works with new cases.

In the reception team, you will work with new cases from start to planning for continued support. Your tasks will include:

  • tracking new cases in SAMSA and scheduling follow-up meetings
  • leading follow-up meetings and planning for discharge
  • investigating the need for temporary care placement or special housing (SÄBO) for individuals with significant care needs
  • handling reports of concern regarding new users
  • collaborating closely with welfare advisors, discharge teams, and other professionals
  • managing the contact point in SAMSA
  • supporting other assistance assessors as a resource when needed

As an assistance assessor, you work with authority according to the Social Services Act (SoL). This means that you:

  • investigate individual needs
  • make decisions about support services
  • follow up on approved services, such as home care

The work includes documentation, meetings with users, collaboration with relatives, colleagues, and other authorities. We place great emphasis on legal security, quality, and follow-up. You work both independently with high delegation and in teams. With us, you will receive an individualized introduction plan and a mentor to support you in your new role, so you feel secure in your work with us.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who:

  • are a qualified social worker or have another university degree that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish both in writing and orally.
  • are familiar with digital documentation and systems.
  • have a valid driver's license B, manual transmission.

We value experience in authority exercise and knowledge of the Finnish language.

To fit in the role of an assistance assessor, we believe you are proactive and responsible. We also believe you are structured and have a certain degree of analytical skills as you will be working with compiling a large amount of material to make decisions. You also need to be easy to collaborate with since the role involves many points of contact.

You share our values, which include security, a sense of responsibility, and respectful treatment. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Selection will take place continuously during the application period.

We look forward to your application!
