About the Job

We are now looking for a new colleague for Tuppfjätgatan's accommodation with special services, who wants to work with our target group, adults with acquired brain injuries.

The issues faced by our tenants vary, ranging from care with full ADL (Activities of Daily Living) to more verbal support and guidance. The goal is for those living here to receive individualized support to lead as independent a life as possible while promoting health and rehabilitation.

The role of the support assistant involves providing the residents with individually tailored support through a low-arousal approach, as well as encouraging and motivating them in their daily rehabilitation and living. Some of the residents are in great need of care and require assistance with transfers. We work to stimulate recreational activities and offer our tenants various physical activities. We have a close collaboration with the health and medical care team, which consists of a nurse, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist. The job responsibilities also include medication management according to delegation, social documentation in the Treserva system, and some other administrative tasks.

As a permanently placed support assistant, you will have the opportunity to be a contact person for a user and to represent your own area of responsibility, e.g., hygiene, aids, or fire safety. All support assistants with us are offered opportunities for further internal education. We work with our own targeted educational initiatives based on the needs we see in the operations.

We use the scheduling program Time Care and actively work with optimized staffing and collaboration between the units in the schedule group. The work is currently scheduled for days, evenings, and three weekends out of six. The scheduling may change if the needs of the tenants change.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other training that the employer assesses as equivalent. It is advantageous if you have relevant further education and/or experience working with people with brain injuries. You have previously worked in care work.

We want you to be clear in your communication and able to work pedagogically and methodically. Experience working with AAC (alternative and augmentative communication) is an advantage. You have passed grades in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

You can quickly change your perspective and approach and see opportunities in changes. You are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. You have the courage and ability to make your own decisions within the framework of your assignment without relying on others. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure.
