Unit Manager at PTS

As a unit manager at PTS, you will play a key role in leading and developing the property and documentation unit during an 18-month temporary position. This is the opportunity for you who want to drive an important support hub in an authority where everything needs to function – every day. You will be a central force in creating order, structure, and development in the organization while being close to a tight-knit team where your presence makes a difference.

We work with issues that everyone takes for granted – the ability to communicate securely. With us, you will have the opportunity to make a difference now and in the future. For everyone.

"My name is Annika Leander, and I am the head of the finance department. I believe in trust, close dialogue, and an open climate where we help each other succeed. As a manager, I am present, clear, and supportive – and I appreciate a team player who stands by their ideas and listens to others. With us, you should feel safe, motivated, and part of a team where we have fun and take responsibility together. A warm welcome to the finance department!"

About the Role

As a unit manager, you will be responsible for the unit's operations, personnel, and finances and be an active part of the finance department's management team. You will lead and develop a team with broad support functions, create good conditions for employees to succeed in their assignments, and ensure deliveries according to the assignment. The role includes both strategic and operational work, close collaboration with employees and other competencies, as well as cross-functional work with many contact points within the authority. You will participate in change work, be responsible for the work environment and safety, follow up on goals and results, manage personnel and budget issues, and drive activities related to safety rounds and the safety committee. The role can develop in line with the needs of the organization.

About the Team

The unit consists of three archivists, three registrars, two caretakers, one management leader, and one department-wide assistant. Despite the unit's different areas of work, the team is tight-knit, engaged, and values social community.

About You

To succeed in the role, you need to be collaborative and a confident leader who builds good relationships through clear communication and helps people grow. You are structured, solution-oriented, and able to prioritize even when many things are happening simultaneously. You thrive in a role where you work both operationally and strategically, take initiative, and create conditions for the unit's work. For us, your personal qualities are important, and we will place great emphasis on these.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Many years of managerial experience with personnel and budget responsibility within a government authority
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Relevant academic degree or other education combined with professional experience that PTS considers equivalent

It is also meritorious if you have:

  • Experience managing archivists and/or registrars
  • Work experience as an interim manager
  • Work experience in cross-functional roles, such as work in safety rounds, safety committees, working groups, or projects
  • Experience managing caretakers
