Job Advertisement: Section Head for Admissions and Student Communication
The Student Department is part of the university administration with the mission to provide support and services to students and to handle student matters.
The Student Department also provides operational support and advice to institutions and university management. The department employs approximately 150 people and operates from the Student House on the Frescati campus.
We are now looking for a new section head to be responsible for the Section for Admissions and Student Communication. The section consists of 28 employees and is one of five sections within the Student Department. The section is divided into two operational groups: the group for student communication led by a group leader, and the group for admissions, tuition fees, and the higher education entrance exam led directly by the section head.

Job Responsibilities
We offer a stimulating leadership role that is independent, developing, and challenging with several student-oriented activities. With a holistic view and strategic perspective, you will lead the work to continuously develop the internal organization and working methods so that the section best meets the university's needs. You will have a close dialogue with the university's areas, faculties, institutions, and the student union to understand the needs and conditions.
The section's responsibilities include admissions, the higher education entrance exam, tuition fees, and student communication.
As section head, you will plan, lead, develop, and follow up on the section's activities. You will be part of the Student Department's management team along with other section heads. You will continuously monitor changes within your operational area. You will maintain and develop a broad network within the university and actively collaborate with other higher education institutions and organizations both nationally and internationally.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Relevant academic degree.
- Experience from the university and higher education sector.
- Leadership experience.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Desirable
- Good knowledge of public administration, particularly regarding universities and colleges and their frameworks.
- Experience and competence in areas such as change management, digitalization, and quality work.
- National network within the study administration field in the university and higher education sector.
- Leadership experience with operational, financial, and personnel responsibility in similar positions within universities/colleges.
- Experience working with study administrative issues, e.g., admissions issues.

About the Employment
The employment is permanent, full-time with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date according to agreement.
