Your Mission

As a Deputy Operational Leader, you will be a unit manager with personnel responsibility for an operational unit in the Signals Intelligence Department, which conducts signal intelligence according to the law on signal intelligence in defense intelligence operations. The department delivers intelligence reports and other services to the agency's clients.

In the role of Deputy Operational Leader at Sigund, you assist the operational leader in overall planning, administration, coordination, and follow-up of intelligence production in the department. As a unit manager, you will lead and coordinate the operations. Your tasks include:

  • having personnel and work environment responsibility for the unit's employees, as well as budget responsibility for the unit
  • driving and developing operations together with employees
  • having an overall situational picture of ongoing intelligence production and the current intelligence situation in the department together with the department's operational leaders and collaborators
  • participating in the annual strategic process and supporting the development of FRA's annual production plan
  • leading and developing processes for the delivery of outgoing intelligence reports and for handling incoming intelligence reports and inquiries
  • assisting in preparations and producing decision-making and preparation materials
  • conducting training and presentations
  • maintaining contacts with various parts of the agency and FRA's clients, representing both the department and the agency.

You Can

We are looking for someone who has:

  • an academic degree or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • practical experience in defense intelligence service
  • knowledge of intelligence operations at FRA's clients
  • experience in information management and archive service in defense intelligence operations
  • experience in leading and coordinating work, both directly and indirectly
  • experience in managing work by setting goals and distributing and following up tasks
  • basic IT skills within intelligence systems
  • very good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • good ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • management and leadership training
  • intelligence training
  • experience as a manager with personnel responsibility
  • experience in signal intelligence service in a leading position
  • worked with any of FRA's clients
  • training in archive service or acquired equivalent knowledge
  • experience of internal governance and management processes in public operations
  • worked in or close to NATO's intelligence operations

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. Before employment, you will undergo a security screening in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment comes with an obligation to be placed in a military position.
