About the Department
As a Building Permit Manager, you will be responsible for a department with 40 employees, including three unit managers. You report to the Technical Director of Huddinge Municipality and are part of the management team of the Environmental and Building Permit Administration along with the other five department heads. About the Job
As a Building Permit Manager, you will lead the operations in both substantive and development issues. You are responsible for personnel, working environment, and budget for the operations.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Leading, planning, distributing, coordinating, communicating, and following up on your department's work
- Leading and developing the department with a focus on quality, legal certainty, and good service
- Ensuring that the building permit process follows the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and other relevant regulations
- Ensuring efficient handling of cases
- Supporting employees in complex cases and being a sounding board in legal and technical matters
- Contributing to the municipality's long-term community planning
You also have an important role in continuing to drive our digitalization efforts and our service work where we take great pride in working for the benefit of the residents.
Your Profile
In this role, we would like to see you have:
- Relevant education in, for example, urban planning or as an architect
- Management experience, including personnel and budget responsibility, for at least 5 years. Preferably within community building and/or related areas
- Municipal experience, preferably as a manager
Furthermore, we see that you have:
- Good experience in working strategically with long-term quality in focus. You should preferably have experience working with interim reports and operational reports
- Adequate knowledge of PBL, as you will be a support for your staff as well as towards the building permit and supervision committee
- Experience in leading other managers
- A focus on service and customer experience
- Good experience in handling written documentation and financial management
