Department Head for Legal and Security

About the Position

As the department head for our new department for Legal and Security, you will play a central role in building the organization and shaping a strong management team. You will lead the department's strategic work and be responsible for developing methods, structures, practices, and culture that support our long-term direction. The role of department head entails overall responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel – and you will drive the development of four units within legal affairs, security and preparedness, information management, as well as procurement, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will report to the director general and be part of the agency's management team along with six other department heads.

The role includes working in a socially critical operation where high security and good preparedness are central components. You will also lead the work in an environment where several of our deliveries are subject to medical technology regulations, where broad experience and the ability to create good collaboration will be important for building a stable and development-oriented organization.

You have a central role in our socially critical operations where we offer digital solutions for health, providing healthcare workers with better conditions and increasing patient safety.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident and clear in their leadership. You are development- and collaboration-oriented and create relationships at all levels of the organization. In your change management, you are strategic and take a holistic perspective. You are courageous, action-oriented, and take responsibility for the development and results of your department.

We are looking for someone who has:

• a law degree
• several years of current managerial experience with responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel
• several years of current experience leading other managers in heavily regulated operations
• current experience in strategic development work within complex organizations
• experience in qualified legal work.

It is advantageous for the position if you have:

• experience in security and preparedness work
• experience working in a government agency
• experience in medical technology or national medical information systems.

The employment is permanent with a six-month probation period. Start date as soon as possible or as agreed. The place of employment is Kalmar or Stockholm. The work may involve business trips, primarily between Kalmar and Stockholm.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. Therefore, we may need to conduct a security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). For some tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
