Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan) makes 21 million decisions that affect people's lives and society as a whole. We disburse approximately 260 billion SEK each year. It is everyone’s tax money that we manage. It is a significant responsibility. Therefore, we delve into every case, follow laws and regulations, inform and guide, care, and show compassion. This is a job for you who want to take responsibility. Welcome to Försäkringskassan.

The Operations Support Department has received a new expanded mandate to provide additional services at our offices across the country. You will be part of the development of this mandate, which gives you the opportunity to influence its design and implementation.

The overarching purpose and goal of the office responsibility is to ensure a good, pleasant, and safe office environment for all employees at the office or offices for which you, as a manager, are responsible, in collaboration with the operations located there.

As a unit manager with office responsibility, you have operational responsibility, personnel responsibility, and budget responsibility for the operation of the office. You ensure that your unit provides services within the Office Service service catalog to Försäkringskassan and other authorities according to current agreements.

As a unit manager with office responsibility, you also have a significant role within Försäkringskassan's geographical preparedness structure. You need to be well versed in legal requirements, regulations, and governing documents that affect security protection, information security, preparedness, and total defense.

Based on the above, it is therefore part of the role of the office-responsible manager to lead the introduction of a culture that promotes good office community and effective local coordination.

In addition to regular responsibilities, as a unit manager within office service responsibility, you have the following:

  • Decision-making authority (related to the budget for the operation of the office, common welfare funds, and placement of operations, minor changes regarding the use of the building's areas and functions)
  • Well-being, coordination, and collaboration for the local office
  • Responsibility for assigned tasks in systematic work environment efforts and fire protection work
  • Responsibility for the office's routines for security and preparedness.

As a unit manager, you are the manager who is closest to the employees and the operations. You are responsible for leading and driving the daily work based on the department's mission and goals, where the state value base permeates your work. Through your leadership, you convey clear expectations, follow up on goals, and provide your employees with the right conditions to take their responsibility. You have personnel responsibility as well as result and follow-up responsibility for the teams in your unit. You also represent Försäkringskassan in external collaborations.

The unit consists of 16 employees. Through close leadership, you create the predictability, security, and sustainability necessary for employees to take their responsibility and meet the need for change. You create understanding of context, direction, and the goals the department has set and develop the plans your operation needs. As a unit manager, you are a support for the area manager and you are part of the area's management group where you contribute your expertise and engagement. You adapt and exercise your leadership in a way that creates conditions for employees to use their judgment and competence.

The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is important that you, who will work with us, have a high security awareness.
