The management office of Region Uppsala is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The management office is led by the regional director and consists of approximately one thousand employees. With a governing, supportive, and coordinating role, the management office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations so that the political direction is reflected in the region's various operations. Our Operations

The position of regional lawyer is located in the legal unit at the department for planning and support. We are nine lawyers, including the chief lawyer, and are now expanding with an additional position.

Central legal areas for our unit include administrative law, health and medical care law, public access and confidentiality, public procurement, municipal law, competition law, contract law, intellectual property law, research law, traffic law, data protection, and other IT law. There are also some issues within corporate law, tort law, property law, and civil procedures.

Your Mission

We are looking for a lawyer with broad legal expertise who wants to work with Region Uppsala's procurements and contracts, primarily within public transport. The tasks will mainly involve procurement and commercial contracts, but you will also encounter issues regarding, among other things, public access and confidentiality as well as municipal law.

Your tasks will include independently investigating and handling cases. You will work with commercial contracts in a public context, participate in the implementation of procurements, conduct legal processes, participate in internal training, and assist the regional director, political bodies, and administrations in legal matters. The main part of the position will consist of assisting the region's traffic administration in procurements when preparing tender documents, conducting procurements, and representing the region in review processes concerning public procurement cases. The tasks also include providing support in contract negotiations in contentious situations, assisting the procurement unit in various issues related to procurement, and assisting in matters concerning confidentiality.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a law degree or equivalent with several years of experience in independent legal work. It is advantageous if you have specific expertise in legal areas that are specifically included in the above-mentioned tasks. You should have good experience in conducting public procurements and in representing cases in review processes from work at an administration, court, or law firm.

Your Competence

To succeed in this role, you are a person who enjoys working across multiple legal areas and handling several cases simultaneously. You appreciate meeting and collaborating with people from different professions and have the ability to see the big picture in complex cases.

As a person, you are structured, meticulous, and used to working on multiple issues simultaneously. Since you will meet many different professions, it is essential that you have good collaborative and communication skills and can express yourself well in both speech and writing. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
