HR Generalist at F 16
F 16 is responsible for the Uppsala garrison and the operation of Uppsala Airport. The wing is also responsible for the surveillance of Swedish airspace around the clock, year-round, and leads the Air Force's combat aircraft in the air. You will be part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the geopolitical situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the Unit
The wing staff is the unit that prepares and orders the tasks of the Commander (C F 16) to directly subordinate units. The task of the wing staff is to increase the commander's capacity by providing four functions:
- support the commander's decision-making
- report to higher command and inform peers continuously
- orient and assist subordinates as needed
- lead service branches or operational functions
A1 is the personnel service department of the wing staff and is responsible for supporting commanders within F 16 in matters concerning personnel and HR services. The department's tasks include advising commanders, negotiations, wage formation, work environment, long-term personnel planning, recruitment, war planning, and rehabilitation and veteran support. The department also coordinates recruitment activities at the wing.
Main Responsibilities
As an HR Generalist, you will support the wing's commanders consultatively and administratively. You will be part of an HR team where all HR Generalists are responsible for their respective focus areas; examples of focus areas include competence development, wage formation, and agreements and conditions. In your role as an HR Generalist, you will focus on the work environment. The responsibility for each focus area can be shifted among you, providing a great opportunity for competence development within the group.
We would like you to have a particular interest in the work environment, as you will develop and manage the unit's systematic work environment efforts at both strategic and operational levels. This means you will be the coordinator for the unit's planning and follow-up of the systematic work environment efforts and support the organization's leaders in these matters. Furthermore, you will work on creating routines and implementing them in the operations, as well as training managers and employees in work environment issues. You will also be the coordinator for the unit's work environment committee and the contact person for the Swedish Work Environment Authority.
The work involves not only collaboration with HR colleagues but also close cooperation with the unit's environmental coordinator, defense health, quality manager, infrastructure officer, and safety organization. Other tasks such as participation in the war unit's exercise activities and other staff tasks may also occur.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Degree at the university level in personnel/HR or equivalent education or experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Very good knowledge of work environment legislation and systematic work environment efforts
- Driver's license (B)

Meritorious
- Experience working with organizational and social work environment
- Current experience of working with HR in the public sector, preferably from the Armed Forces.

Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and surveillance of Uppsala Airport as well as the training of conscripts in various positions within the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which commands combat aircraft in the air and manages the constant surveillance of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several locations in the country and constitutes an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is undergoing.
