Unit Manager for Erikshjälpen Future Workshops

Erikshjälpen is a children's rights organization with a non-profit second-hand operation.

We work on about 100 projects in 16 countries and operate around 50 stores under Erikshjälpen Second Hand in Sweden and Norway.

In our work in Sweden, we operate Erikshjälpen Future Workshops in several locations. There, Erikshjälpen, together with children, youth, and parents, aims to create conditions for personal development and social mobilization. The work is done in close collaboration with participants, municipal services, businesses, and the wider civil society. Description:

As a unit manager, you report to the department manager and are part of the centrally employed team at Erikshjälpen's Program Department Sweden. You are responsible for 2-3 local future workshops and their staff. The assignment also includes responsibilities related to developing and strengthening the work with Erikshjälpen Future Workshops nationally.

Examples of Job Duties

Be responsible for the unit's operations, budget, work environment, and staff
Lead and distribute work within the unit
Work on business development and quality improvements for the local operations
Actively work for long-term funding of the operations locally and nationally
Contribute to developing and anchoring Erikshjälpen's overall strategies and goals within the Program Department Sweden
Create contacts and build relationships with key networks and partners
Represent Erikshjälpen in local and national forums
Participate in the department's overall work
Other administrative tasks may be included in the work
Travel for work is regularly required, sometimes including overnight stays

Who are we looking for?

You have a degree in relevant post-secondary education in areas such as health, education, social work, human rights, or equivalent work experience deemed relevant by the employer
Experience working with or collaborating with public authorities and the non-profit sector on social challenges
Documented experience as a manager and leading staff
Experienced in building trust and motivation among staff and strengthening collaboration in small teams
You are flexible in your working style and attentive as a leader
A high level of communication skills where you are comfortable communicating both verbally and in writing
Social and engaged in your role and with the staff you lead and the collaborators you meet
You are independent, take initiatives, and are driven to achieve the organization's goals with high quality
A valid driver's license (B) is required

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience from the non-profit sector
Experience in social work with people in vulnerable life situations
Knowledge of Erikshjälpen and our future workshops
Experience in children's rights issues and rights-based work
