Technical Administrator at the Swedish Armed Forces

About the Unit
The Uppland and Västmanland Group (UVG) trains and administers the Home Guard and national protection forces, as well as supports volunteer organizations within Uppland and Västmanland counties. The Home Guard units supported by UVG are the 21st and 22nd Home Guard Battalions, the 214th Hvund Company, as well as the 215th and 224th Home Guard Music Corps.
UVG is part of the Central Military Region (MR M) and is located in Enköping.
Main Responsibilities
In the role of Technical Administrator, you will be involved in the logistics section's work regarding material handling related to technical systems and routine tasks. This is done in close collaboration with other staff within the unit and MR M.
Responsibilities include, among others:
- Assisting the technical manager and the C Log section with planning, implementation, registration, follow-up, etc., of routine tasks such as basic inspections of vehicles, weapons, communication systems, etc.
- Supporting the technical manager with inspections, repairs, training, etc., on technical systems.
- Responsible for systematic maintenance and controls on various types of equipment, such as vehicles, sensors, optics, communication systems, medical materials, etc.
- Training and leading, when necessary, Home Guard personnel in activities requiring technical training in technical matters, both in daily service and during exercises.
- Participating in the logistics section's work internally and externally.
- Resolving other tasks that arise within the unit.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Approved high school diploma, such as vehicle education, three-year technical education, or equivalent
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- B and C driver's licenses
- Good computer skills
- Experience with SAP and LIFT
- Military driver's licenses (car, tracked vehicle, truck, heavy trailer, off-road vehicle)/training on military vehicles, weapons, optics, communication systems, etc.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, responsible, and has a good ability to switch between details and the big picture. You should be used to working independently as well as in a team. The role of technical administrator involves a lot of collaboration with different units and people, so we value that you are communicative.
You need to be structured, meticulous, and able to plan and prioritize your work effectively, even in situations with many tasks at hand or when circumstances change. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
MERITORIOUS
- Basic Military Training/Conscription or equivalent
- Driver's license for trucks, buses, heavy trailers
- Wheel loader and/or forklift operator certificate
- Designated inspection technician for weapons, optics, and electrical materials
Other
Employment type: Permanent employment. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the authority.
Employment rate: Full-time.
Work location: Enköping (the position involves periods of absence from the workplace).
Start date: By agreement.
Salary: Individual salary setting.
The position may involve travel (mainly within Sweden), recurring readiness, and participation in exercises.
Upon employment, you will receive combat training and be assigned to the position and cannot be combined with another war placement.
