Description

At the Financial Support Unit in Bollnäs Municipality, social workers, case handlers, and budget and debt advisors/consumer guides work within the same unit.

The unit also includes a senior social worker who provides support in daily work and case-related questions, as well as the shared reception of Individual and Family Care, which is organizationally part of the unit.

Responsibilities

In the role of social worker within financial support, your main tasks will be to investigate and assess the right to assistance according to the Social Services Act and to actively work with the individual to create a change in their life situation that leads to self-sufficiency. We view the handling of financial assistance as a qualified social change effort aimed at strengthening the individual's ability to live an independent life. We use the structured assessment method Instrument X as part of our work to clarify people's needs for support on the path to self-sufficiency.

With the new Social Services Act that came into force on July 1, 2025, the unit and the professional role are facing a development process to meet the needs of the target group. Therefore, we hope that you have a positive attitude and a strong interest and commitment to people and change work.

Qualifications

In the role of social worker, it is important that you are flexible and can work independently but also have good collaboration skills as you will work closely with colleagues and other stakeholders. You contribute to a positive spirit and joy in the workplace. You have good communication skills and can express yourself well in both speech and writing.

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another academic qualification that the employer considers equivalent.

Experience in case handling and/or work within the profession is an advantage.

Driver's license B is required.
