Do you want to help develop early support for children and their parents? Then this position might be for you.

We are currently looking for two Parent Advisors. As a Parent Advisor, you will be part of the Social and Care Administration and belong to the Preventive Unit for Children and Youth. Within the unit, there are Field Workers, Drug Preventers, Family Counselors, and Parent Advisors.

In the role of Parent Advisor, you will work in various environments to offer early support. A central arena is the Family Center, where we collaborate with Open Preschools and regional services such as Maternal and Child Health Care.

You will work to create good relationships with parents and their children aged 0–18 years. The job involves providing early parent-strengthening interventions, both individually and in groups. You will be available for advice, support, and motivational conversations, and you will guide between parents and various support functions in society.

Since you will meet parents in their everyday lives, you need to be comfortable working in different arenas and collaborating with, for example, preschools and schools.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a secure person with the ability to listen and meet families based on their needs and circumstances. You value participation, see strengths, but are also attentive to support needs. The role requires you to be self-driven, solution-oriented, take initiatives, and be proactive in the helping process.

As we are in a transition to a new social services law, you need to be open, curious, and willing to try new working methods to develop the operations in the best way for children, youth, and their parents.

You should have a degree in social work or an equivalent university degree with a behavioral science focus that the employer assesses as equivalent. You should have good knowledge of the social services' mission and organization as well as other relevant social systems. Experience in treatment or supportive work with the target group is an advantage.

The goal is to provide individuals with the right support so that they can move on to work, studies, or develop in other ways. We also provide support to the elderly who need help in their daily lives.
