Description

The family counseling in Bollnäs is an operation run in collaboration between the municipalities of Bollnäs and Ovanåker. Family counseling is a statutory task for municipalities to offer their citizens. The waiting time for the first consultation has increased in recent years, and to provide citizens with quicker access to support, staffing is now being increased while we enhance quality by reducing solitary work in the operation.

Responsibilities

Family counselors work with couples and families seeking help with relationship problems and/or in an acute crisis. The family counseling also works preventively and outwardly with information.

Working as a family counselor means independently providing counseling to couples, families, and individuals with various relationship issues. The main task is to facilitate processing and alleviate conflicts primarily in couple and family relationships through therapy sessions. This involves discussing difficult topics, finding ways out of locked positions, and creating opportunities for change.

The target group includes couples, adult siblings, or parents and adult children.

Qualifications

As a person, you are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations, maintaining a realistic perspective on various situations and focusing on the right things. You have the ability to empathize with someone else's perspective or situation without taking over the person's feelings.

We also see that you speak clearly, articulately, and engagingly in individual meetings and small and large groups, listen and are receptive to the other party, and adapt to the situation. You adjust the way you convey your message to the recipient.

Requirements:

• Degree in social work (210 credits) or another equivalent higher education with a behavioral focus.
• Basic psychotherapy training equivalent to level 1 (including personal therapy and supervision).
• Several years of experience, at least 5 years, of independent family therapeutic/psychosocial treatment work.
• Ability to work independently in treatment work.
• Police record extract to be submitted to the employer before employment.

Meritorious

• Education in sexology, relationship violence, and crisis/trauma.
• Licensed psychotherapist (psychotherapy degree).
• Training in Emotionally Focused Therapy - EFT.
• Preferably experience as a family counselor.
