The Department of Individual and Family Care in Sandviken municipality has a functionally divided organization. Within the department's area of responsibility, there is child and youth care, addiction care, financial assistance, and family law, as well as processing alcohol permits and strategic work in the areas of public health and safety and ANDTS. The department has a well-developed open care for children, youth, and their families, as well as for adults.

Within the authority of child and youth care in Sandviken, we have created a new management structure to enable a closer and more sustainable leadership with four engaged and experienced unit managers – each responsible for the reception unit, investigation unit, placement unit, and foster care and family law unit.

We are now looking for social workers for summer positions in the reception unit for 2026.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The reception unit is responsible for receiving and assessing applications and reports of concern regarding children and youth aged 0-20 years. In cases of reports of concern, we determine whether an investigation should be initiated.

Your main task is to assist the regular social workers by participating in and relieving the daily work concerning children and youth and their families.

We work from a systems-theoretical perspective with a developed child perspective aiming to achieve high participation through various forms of network work.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are studying, will soon complete, or have already completed your studies in social work. We place great importance on your personal qualities. We expect you to be an empathetic and secure person with the ability to reflect. Working with us requires both flexibility and the ability to maintain structure, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment. To work with us, you should also have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.
