The unit for financial assistance is located at Första Magasingatan 9, and our unit consists of about 35 employees with various job titles such as financial assistance officer, senior financial assistance officer, and administrators.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The role in this position is primarily as a financial assistance officer, but your main task is to work with FUT (incorrect payments) and estate administration. As a person, you are confident in making independent decisions regarding financial assistance by applying the legislation correctly and securely. As an officer within FUT, you investigate suspicions that a person has received too much or incorrect financial assistance. As an officer within estate administration, you investigate the financial conditions of estates, make decisions according to applicable legislation, and sometimes temporarily manage estates. The work requires you to collaborate with many internal and external stakeholders.

Your tasks include:

Financial Assistance (SoL)

• Investigate, assess, and make decisions regarding the right to financial assistance
• Conduct thorough investigations and review financial documentation
• Make independent and legally secure decisions
• Document and prepare decision-making materials

FUT Officer

• Investigate suspicions of incorrect or excessive assistance payments
• Review income, assets, and other relevant information
• Make decisions on recovery according to social services
• Prepare police reports in case of suspected fraud
• Represent in the administrative court in appeals

Estate Administration

• Investigate the financial conditions of estates
• Make decisions on estate notifications and assistance for burial costs
• Manage contacts with banks, landlords, creditors, and funeral homes
• Ensure correct and legally secure handling according to applicable legislation
• Maintain a respectful and good interaction with relatives and other collaborators

In this role, you will be part of a team where you and a colleague share responsibility for FUT and estate administration, with a senior financial assistance officer available for support in these areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a confident and skilled officer who applies the legislation in a legally secure and correct manner and who wants to work with financial assistance focusing on FUT and estate administration.

• Social worker or a higher education degree in social, social science, economic, or legal fields
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form

It is an advantage for the position if you have:

• Experience working with authority within social services or other government agencies
• Experience in handling financial assistance, FUT, and estate administration
• Experience with the operational system Treserva
• Experience working with vulnerable people
