The Child Investigation Unit has a unit manager, two administrators, 25 social workers, including three specialist case managers and four senior social workers. The unit works with the target group of children aged 0–12 years and their families. The unit's mission consists of investigating children's needs for protection and/or support according to SoL and LVU, as well as making preliminary assessments in ongoing cases. The mission also includes following up on decided interventions. The investigation unit is divided into four teams led by senior social workers. In the teams, we have in-depth discussions, knowledge of each other's cases, and close supervision, which increases the legal security in the handling.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Is it time for a new challenge and do you want to be part of a helpful and committed work group? We are now looking for another social worker for our wonderful Child Investigation Unit. We are particularly looking for someone with several years of experience in public authority work concerning children and youth. If you are the one we are looking for and have the right qualifications, there is an opportunity to become a specialist case manager with a salary increase and extended delegation.
In the unit, social workers, specialist case managers, senior social workers/team leaders, two administrators, and a unit manager work. We work with the target group of children aged 0 - 12 years and their families. The mission consists of investigating children's needs for protection and/or support according to SoL and LVU, as well as making preliminary assessments in ongoing cases. The mission also includes following up on decided interventions.
We have a competence and authority ladder that enables an internal career without managerial responsibility and clarity about what is expected, both from the employer and employees.
The work at the Child Investigation Unit is characterized by structure in the form of fixed forums every week, e.g., preparation to promote good quality and safety in the professional role. We actively work for good cohesion and a good work environment. For us, it is important that you as a new social worker in our unit have the opportunity for a good start. As a new employee, you will undergo an introduction, which means you will receive close support and can be a co-handler in cases during the initial period to strengthen you as a new employee.
All employees will participate in the Professional Journey to ensure a good introduction and further professional development during the time they are employed. It includes essential training components tailored to the target group we work with and based on how long one has worked in the field.
We work according to Signs of Safety in investigation and treatment processes concerning children and youth. We have continuous external supervision that provides support, space, and tools for you to develop in your professional role.
Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the advertising period.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in investigative work.
To succeed in your role as a social worker:
- You work to follow statutory requirements, policies, and instructions and adhere to set timelines.
- You possess the ability to see what needs to be prioritized and organized, are efficient, and use resources to achieve results in the best possible way.
- You work legally secure and have good judgment skills.
- You are good at both working independently and together with others, you are perceived as stable, easily create trust, and always work to provide a good reception.
- You find it easy to create and maintain good relationships and collaborate well with people in various contexts and functions.
You have a good initiative and understand spoken and written communication well. You have good documentation skills and can express yourself in speech and writing. You adapt your language to different situations and functions.
You have experience with BBIC (children's needs in focus) and SoS (signs of safety).
A driver's license and good driving experience are required for the position.
For this position, a criminal record extract from the police is required. This will only be requested from the final candidate in the last step of the recruitment process.
