The Department of Individual and Family Care in Sandviken Municipality has a functionally divided organization. Within the department's area of responsibility, there is child and youth care, addiction care, financial assistance, family law, as well as processing alcohol permits and strategic work in the areas of public health and safety and ANDTS. The department has a well-developed outpatient care for children, young people, and their families, as well as for adults.
The Adult Unit is the municipality's addiction care. The unit also works with violence in close relationships. More than 20 people work within the unit. The core of the operation is the social worker group, which currently consists of six caseworkers.
