The Department of Individual and Family Care in Sandviken Municipality has a functionally divided organization. Within the department's area of responsibility, there is child and youth care, addiction care, financial assistance, family law, and the processing of alcohol permits, as well as strategic work in the areas of public health, safety, and ANDTS. The department has a well-developed open care for children, youth, and their families, as well as for adults.

Within the authority of child and youth care in Sandviken, we have created a new management structure to enable a closer and more sustainable leadership with four engaged and experienced unit managers – each responsible for the reception unit, investigation unit, placement unit, and foster care and family law unit.

We are now seeking social workers for summer vacancies in 2026 for the placement unit.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The main task of the unit is processing and authority exercise according to SoL and LVU with a focus on children and youth aged 0-20 years and their families and networks. As a social worker in the placement unit, you will handle placed children and youth. In your work, you will collaborate with other colleagues within our operations and also cooperate with other external and internal partners.

Your main task is to assist regular social workers by participating and relieving in the daily work regarding children and youth and their families.

We work from a systems-theoretical perspective with a developed child perspective, where contact and time with children are prioritized, combined with network work and Signs of Safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are studying, will be, or have already completed your studies in the social work program. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. We expect you to be an empathetic and secure person with the ability to reflect. Working with us requires both flexibility and the ability to structure and thrive in a fast-paced environment. To work with us, you should also have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.
