Sandviken Municipality's youth accommodation is aimed at young people who, for various reasons, cannot live at home with their parents. The operation consists of a HVB part with eight places for young people between 13 and 20 years old and a support accommodation part with seven places for young people between 16 and 20 years old. Our mission is to contribute to high-quality home solutions by providing emergency, investigation, and home placement in the social services' youth cases. We have moved to new premises, which gives us the opportunity to create an even better and more supportive work environment for our employees and the young people we work with.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role at the youth accommodation is to:

• Based on care and implementation plans, plan and carry out treatment work together with the placed youth.
• Guide and support youth in an individualized manner in their daily activities.
• Be responsible for the practical work with the youth and together with your colleagues ensure that the investigation or treatment planning is implemented.
• Work according to the methods of MI, trauma-informed care, and low-arousal response.

You will be part of a team with a specialist social worker and group leader with investigative responsibility who together deliver investigations based on assignments from social workers. The work involves contacts with guardians and other parts of the youth's private and professional network. You assist the group leader in gathering the information needed for the investigation. The time with the youth during their placement has clear goals and purposes, which means that you carry out structured activities during work shifts with the youth individually or in groups. As a contact person, you will have a special responsibility for a couple of the youth living in the accommodation. Ongoing documentation for follow-up of placements is also included. An important part of the assignment is to motivate youth to engage with you and other adults in the accommodation.

The position involves scheduled work with evening, weekend, and on-call duties, with a large part of the working hours scheduled for evenings.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about working with youth and their families.
• Has a university degree or a two-year post-secondary education in social work, or is currently studying such a program.
• Has a very good ability to build trust and collaborate with youth and their networks.
• Is driven, responsible, and has a holistic perspective.
• Has a positive and solution-oriented approach.

A valid driver's license is required.

Experience in social work with youth is required.
