Social Worker for Placed Children and Youth

One of our colleagues is moving on to a new position in children and youth services, and we are therefore looking for a social worker for placed children and youth to join our foster care team.

As a new social worker with us, you will be offered an introduction and training tailored to your needs, providing you with the tools you need for the job and the opportunity to grow into the role. We have continuous external supervision, legal guidance, and regular case supervision. All employees in the unit are part of the Professional Journey, which is an initiative to strengthen introduction and professional development.

We in the children and youth unit care about ensuring that our employees have a good balance between work and leisure, which is why we currently offer a reduced working time that means a full-time workweek is 35 hours with maintained salary. Currently, this is a trial period (until March 2026). We also offer annual working hours, vacation exchange, wellness benefits, and the possibility of agreement for remote work up to two days a week.

Job Responsibilities

Working as a social worker for placed children and youth is a varied and exciting job where you have the opportunity to make a difference.

Your task in children and youth largely involves following up on the care that the child or young person receives in the foster home and working to ensure that placed children and youth have their needs met. You will be the spider in the web coordinating necessary interventions around the child by having close collaboration with the child/youth as well as with parents, foster homes, and other actors in the professional network such as schools and regions.

We in children and youth enjoy developing our work and are working on continuous improvements so that the children and families we meet receive a professional response and legally secure processing. We work according to the Signs of Safety approach, which invites close collaboration with children, parents, and their networks. We are also in the transition to the new social services act. We believe that it should be exciting and fun, and in the work of driving development forward, you are important!

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and who is interested in developing social work and processing for children and youth. We prefer that you have experience in authority exercise within the target group and have worked with BBIC and Signs of Safety. Personal suitability is crucial.
