At the office of Building, Living, and Environment, we take great responsibility for complex issues regarding the municipality's development. The office of Building, Living, and Environment is jointly responsible for Nykvarn Municipality's community building issues. Among us, there are departments and units for Building and Environment, Planning and Exploitation, as well as Street/Park.

Environmental Inspector with a focus on individual sewage systems

The Building and Environment Department is now looking for an engaged environmental inspector to strengthen our team in environmental protection. The Building and Environment Department is a small but ambitious department where dialogue, participation, and development are at the center. Your main tasks will be the supervision of individual sewage systems. This includes, among other things, inventorying areas in the municipality with private sewage facilities and conducting inspection visits, risk-classifying sewage facilities according to the model of the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, as well as processing incoming cases in the area, such as permit assessments and complaints. If you have broader expertise, it may also be relevant to work with other supervision areas or tasks. We are looking for someone with specialist knowledge in the field of environmental and health protection related to assessment and supervision according to the Environmental Code through an academic degree or other higher education that we consider equivalent. This means you have a scientific background with good knowledge of current special legislation, administrative law, and supervision methodology.

Nykvarn Municipality is a Finnish administrative area, and we consider it an asset if you speak Finnish.

We are looking for someone with specialist knowledge in the field of environmental and health protection related to assessment and supervision according to the Environmental Code through an academic degree or other higher education that we consider equivalent. This means you have a scientific background with good knowledge of current special legislation, administrative law, and supervision methodology. As a person, you are structured, self-driven, and solution-oriented. You can prioritize, drive your work forward, and find alternatives when problems arise. You are also communicative and can express yourself clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You can also adapt your communication to different recipients and purposes. We value your ability to collaborate and your unpretentious approach.

Requirements:

• Qualified environmental and health inspector or other education that the employer deems equivalent
• B driver's license
• Good knowledge of the Environmental Code, administrative law, and authority exercise
• Experience in supervisory work according to the Environmental Code
• Good ability to communicate, collaborate, and meet people in a professional manner
• Ability to work with structure and a sense of responsibility both independently and in a group

Meritorious:

• Insight into public operations
• Experience with case management systems such as Castor
• Experience working in a municipality or in a municipal association
