Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is looking for a Climate Analyst
The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency coordinates and drives the work for a good living environment together with others. Do you want to be part of our expert group that develops knowledge bases for climate transition in Sweden and the EU? The Climate Analysis Unit is now looking for someone who wants to develop Sweden's and the EU's climate work together with us.
We work with analyses and knowledge bases as well as the development of climate policy proposals to strengthen climate work nationally and within the EU. We produce material for the government's negotiations on EU climate policy and material for the government's climate reporting and climate action plan, as well as reports to the EU and the UN. We also follow research projects, respond to consultations, participate in international contexts, and work on various government assignments in the climate area. The responsibilities cover all emission sectors as well as carbon uptake in forests and land.
Your tasks
You will work on producing material related to the analysis, evaluation, and development of climate policy instruments at the EU level and nationally to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Other tasks related to instruments and measures in the climate transition may also be relevant, such as following research projects and responding to consultations. The work includes contacts and collaboration with external actors and authorities. The work is carried out both independently and in groups.
The positions are suitable for both those with extensive experience and those who are at the beginning of their careers.
Your qualifications
Requirements:
- We are looking for someone with a relevant higher education degree in the field, e.g., in economics, political science, natural sciences, or engineering.
- You have experience with environmental/climate-related issues through studies or work.
- You can express yourself well both orally and in writing in Swedish and English.
Meritorious:
- Work experience in investigating, analyzing, and developing instruments and measures within climate/environmental policy.
- Thesis or academic dissertation related to instruments and measures within climate policy.
- Good knowledge of climate measures and climate policy in Sweden and the EU.
- Knowledge of the transport sector (for one of the positions).

Additionally, we value your analytical ability, your capacity to see the whole picture, and your ability to find solutions that lead to improvement and development.
About the employment
The positions are fixed-term for 12 months. The placement of the positions is in Stockholm or Östersund. Start date as soon as possible by agreement. We apply individual salary setting.
