The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is an authority where geographic data is becoming increasingly important as analysis, planning, and decision-making support, as well as in collaboration, monitoring, and communication. We are currently taking new steps in digitalization and need to develop the use and working methods with geodata throughout the organization. This assignment is an exciting challenge with great opportunities for improvement.

Your Responsibilities

The Nature Information Unit is now looking for an expert in geodata and geographic analysis who wants to help us develop our work with geodata; someone who enjoys working with both difficult and simple questions and who can be reactive as well as proactive. The role includes coordinating, structuring, developing, and maintaining our nature information in the form of geodata, as well as functioning as internal geodata support in the Nature Department. An important part is also to drive and support the department's ongoing development of new analyses and tools by assisting with orders and quality assurance of deliveries from external consultants, as well as helping to develop our internal competence to produce our own analyses, tools, apps, and information panels.

The Nature Information Unit is one of eight units within the Nature Department. Our mission includes providing support in digital business development, coordinating and supporting information supply, and supporting geodata management. We require the development of national data frameworks used in several operations, such as National Land Cover Data. We also collaborate with colleagues in other departments where there are central resources for information management and geodata.

We are a workplace with collaborative colleagues and present leadership, where we gather around our mission aimed at improving the environment for current and future generations.
