Municipal Executive Office – Finance Department

Description

The Municipal Executive Office is now strengthening the governance of the municipal group's economic entirety by establishing a new finance department within the finance function.

As a controller focused on finance and corporate governance, you will be a central part of this establishment and the ongoing work.

The finance department works with the governance of the municipality's companies and has a collective responsibility for the municipality's internal bank, which includes financial analysis, debt and capital management.

Responsibilities

Your role includes, among other things:

• Working with financial issues within the municipality's internal bank, including liquidity planning, risk assessment, debt portfolio, and financial flows.
• Responsible for compiling budgets, forecasts, and follow-ups for the municipal companies and contributing to decision-making materials for the CEO and board of the parent company Karlstad Stadshus AB.
• Along with the municipality's finance manager and your colleagues, develop the structure, models, and working methods of the finance department, supporting the group management in corporate governance issues.
• Conduct qualified analyses and investigations, gather facts, evaluate alternatives, and formulate clear and well-founded decision-making materials for the parent company and the municipality.
• Actively contribute to the development of the new department's methodology, digital tools, and processes.

You will be part of a newly established department where functions for finance, analysis, and corporate governance are gathered. This means a dynamic work environment where you and your colleagues build the working methods together.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in economics, preferably with a specialization in finance or economics.
• Experience in financial management, financial analysis, or corporate governance.

Meritorious:

• Experience from politically governed organizations, municipal companies, or complex corporate structures.
• Knowledge of internal banking/treasury, capital management, or group financing.
• Previous experience in auditing, accounting, and corporate transactions.
• Previous experience in finance-related work, insurance, or an interest in the finance field.

You have good digital skills and a desire to develop tools and system support. The work is conducted, among other things, in the operational system Stratsys.
