Mestergruppen Sweden is an association of independent entrepreneurs. Under their umbrella are well-known chains such as XL-BYGG, BOLIST, Happy Homes, Colorama, and Mal Proff. Together, they are market leaders in the building materials trade in Sweden, with around 275 stores across the country. In addition, the business includes approximately 175 paint retail stores, making them one of Sweden's largest players with an extensive store network. The Mestergruppen office in Solna consists of about 90 engaged employees and offers support in areas such as purchasing, master data, marketing, e-commerce, finance, logistics, business systems, and store development and establishment. As a support function to its members and shareholders, they have an important mission: to provide products, services, and expertise that enable the stores in their chains to be profitable, efficient, and successful. The service office Mestergruppen Sweden is part of the Mestergruppen group, headquartered in Oslo, and they strongly believe in the power of a group-wide working method.

Mestergruppen is located in modern premises at the top of Solna Gate, with a gym, sports hall, and restaurant in the building.

Job responsibilities

As a Purchasing Controller, you have a central role in strengthening the company's purchasing work and contributing to the goal of the industry's best purchasing conditions and efficient logistics. The role is broad, and you are a business-oriented support to the operations, which means close collaboration with purchasing, finance, logistics, suppliers, and members. You will continuously work with purchasing management, analysis, follow-up, and development of workflows and system support to create clear decision-making bases and more efficient processes.

The work includes, among other things, following up on contracts, calculations related to inventory operations, and managing compensations and bonuses from a large number of suppliers. The role requires the ability to understand the whole picture, from purchasing and logistics to effects for member companies. There are also good opportunities in the role to influence workflows, drive automation, and further develop BI support. You will be part of a team of four people where collaboration and knowledge sharing are important parts of everyday life.

Examples of job responsibilities:

  • Prepare analyses and calculations that support category work, contracts, and purchasing management.
  • Manage and reconcile supplier bonuses and compensations.
  • Manage and develop BI support such as Qlik Sense and contribute to data quality and automation.
  • Participate in and drive improvement initiatives and projects within Mestergruppen and together with owner companies in Sweden and Norway.

Education, experience, and personal qualities

Requirements:

  • Relevant post-secondary education in economics, industrial economics, logistics, or a similar field
  • Several years of experience in a controller role, analyst role, or other work focused on data, analysis, or financial follow-up
  • Very good knowledge of Excel and experience working with larger data sets
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with BI tools
  • Experience working with process improvements and automation
  • Experience from industries such as building materials, retail, wholesale, or similar businesses
