Within the social care administration, about 1200 dedicated employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work takes place within elderly care, home care, disability services, social psychiatry, and individual and family care.

Disability services and social psychiatry are one of three departments within the social care administration. The department is responsible for LSS housing, daily activities, housing support, short-term stays, and personal assistance. We are around 250 employees who work with great commitment, focusing on the individual's needs and based on a belief in the individual's own abilities. We work purposefully to ensure that our operations have high competence and quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Being a support family means welcoming a child with a disability into your home. You allow the child to be part of your daily life while also giving time to meet the child's needs. Through this initiative, relatives or other close ones can be given relief and space for relaxation. The initiative can also meet the need for a change of environment and recreation, but also provide opportunities for the child's personal development.

We are looking for a stable and secure support family according to the Act on Support and Service (LSS) for a 15-year-old boy who has diagnoses of autism and ADHD. We are looking for you, as a support family, who can provide support and care every other weekend, from Friday to Sunday. The boy has a great interest in football, music, film, and enjoys being outdoors and participating in various activities. To create a positive and secure environment for him, it is important that the family can offer structure and clear routines in daily life. It is also important that the family can provide him with the support and security he needs to thrive. To create a good balance at home, there is a desire that there are no other children in the family, unless they are older and self-sufficient.

There is also a desire that you as a support family live in the countryside and have pets, but this is not a requirement. We wish that you as a family live near Ystad.

Compensation for the assignment is based on the recommendations of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKR).

QUALIFICATIONS

No specific education is required to become a support family, but you must be over 18 years old and have experience with NPF diagnoses. As a support family, it is important to be attentive, clear, and consistent. You should enjoy spending time with others and be able to meet the applicant's needs. You who apply should want and be prepared for the assignment to potentially last for a longer period.
