As part of their forward development, we at Asta Agency are collaborating with Magle Group in this recruitment process. This is a consulting assignment with a good opportunity for employment with them. You will initially be employed by Asta Agency and work as a consultant at Magle Group.

About the Position
Magle Group is now seeking a Cost Accountant for a new role within the Finance & Business Control team. The position will be a key link between the finance department and the operational companies within the group. The role involves close collaboration with manufacturing, purchasing, and supply chain, focusing on ensuring accurate tracking of costs, inventory valuation, and operational efficiency.

As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for building and developing processes and routines for cost accounting, analysis, and reporting. This means you are expected to ensure accurate and up-to-date inventory valuation each month and deliver transparent and timely COGS reporting. You will be responsible for conducting clear variance analyses and presenting action proposals, as well as keeping the standard costs updated for the majority of the company's products. An important part of the assignment is to maintain high inventory accuracy and contribute to ensuring that no audit comments arise. Furthermore, you will produce regular margin and profitability analyses to support pricing and sales. The role also involves active participation in cross-functional collaborations and driving initiatives for cost reduction, as well as contributing to continuous improvements of processes, routines, and systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation according to IFRS, ISO13485, and GMP.
  • Track and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) for all manufacturing units.
  • Develop and improve cost accounting methods, including standard costs and overhead allocations.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing with manufacturing and inventory cost data.
  • Perform variance analyses.
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain on real-time costs, batch costs, and root cause analyses.
  • Develop pricing models for pricing, profitability analysis, and investment decisions.
  • Contribute to cost optimization, process improvements, and efficiency tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements.
  • Prepare reports and KPIs for finance, management, and operations.
  • Support R&D and production planning with cost analyses for new product launches or process changes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in cost accounting and contribute to training, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications and Attributes
To succeed in this role, you have a solid background in cost accounting and reporting in a manufacturing industry. You are structured, meticulous, and have the ability to manage multiple parallel processes with high quality and regulatory compliance. We are looking for someone who wants to work in a flat organization where there are short decision-making paths and where the organization is agile and adaptable, which places similar demands on you as a person. Finally, you are motivated by growing and developing together with others, inspiring and being inspired both through actions and words.

Additionally, you have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role/assignment within the manufacturing industry.
  • Post-secondary education in economics/finance.
  • Fluent skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience from a company in the medical technology field
